Whether you are in Ho Chi Minh City or halfway across the globe, in New York, Berlin, or Sydney, our team can work with you remotely to create a personalized garment based on your measurements, design preferences, and fit.

At TuyetLan OrchidSilk, distance does not have to stand between you and a garment made especially for you. Over the years, we have successfully worked with customers remotely and shipped their custom-made garments to Australia, the United States, Singapore, and countries across Europe.

You might be wondering: Is taking your own measurements at home accurate enough? The answer is yes! Just follow the steps below carefully, the entire process takes less than 10 minutes, and our team of artisans will guide you every step of the way to ensure the measurements are as precise as possible before cutting and sewing begins.

    Step 1: Preparation Before Measuring

A few simple preparations can help ensure your measurements are much more accurate.

Soft measuring tape: Use a flexible tailor's measuring tape (marked in centimeters or inches). Avoid using a rigid ruler or a metal construction tape measure, as these do not follow the natural curves of the body and may result in inaccurate measurements.

Clothing: Wear thin, lightweight, and form-fitting clothing, such as a fitted T-shirt, leggings, or the shapewear you wear daily. Avoid bulky or loose-fitting garments, as excess fabric can add unwanted bulk to your measurements and may not reflect your true physique.

Get assistance: If possible, ask a friend or family member to take the measurements for you. Measuring yourself can require you to bend over or adjust your shoulders to read the tape, and these movements can affect your posture and distort certain measurements.

Stance: Stand naturally upright with your shoulders relaxed and your feet either slightly together or shoulder-width apart. Breathe normally and keep your body relaxed. Do not suck in your stomach or push out your chest excessively. Your measurements should reflect your body in its most natural position.

Step 2: Capture Three Body Profile Photos

In addition to measurements, three body profile photos can help our artisans better understand your body proportions, including your shoulder slope, back posture, and hip shape, details that numbers alone cannot fully convey.

These photos provide an additional reference for our team, allowing us to create a more refined cut based on your individual proportions. Please submit photos from the following three angles:

Front view: A full-body photo taken from the front while standing naturally.

Side view: A full-profile photo taken from one side while standing straight.

Back view: A full-body photo showing your back and shoulders clearly

Photography tips: Hold your phone at chest or waist level and choose a well-lit location. Avoid taking photos from very high or low angles, as the wrong angle can distort body proportions in the photo.

Step 3: Detailed Measurement Tutorial Video

To help you visualize the process more clearly, we have prepared a short video demonstrating the correct placement of the measuring tape for each key measurement, including the bust, waist, hips, garment length, shoulder width, and sleeve length.

Simply follow the steps in the video, and you will be able to take your measurements accurately and confidently.

Step 4: Fill in the Measurement Chart

Once you have taken your measurements, please enter the figures into the chart below, using either centimetres or inches. Once completed, simply send the measurement chart together with your three photographs to the TuyetLan OrchidSilk team.

(A detailed measurement guide may also be provided depending on the garment and design you choose.)
